Modern: Jordan & Southern Israel
Edomites were descendants of Esau and dwelt in southern Jordan. They were of the family line of Abraham and brothers of the Israelite race that began their decline after the Babylonian period, disappearing from history by the 6th century AD.
Fulfilled: Seeing is Believing
The Kazden – just one of dozens of sites and cities left vacant and desolate precisely as the Bible foretold over 2,600 years ago.
Resting mostly in what is now modern Jordan and south east Israel, Edom is historically traced in the Bible to be the progeny of Esau, brother of Jacob/Israel.
Edom became an important Kingdom by the time of Assyrian power in the 8th century with its capital in Bozrah. Yet, as described in the prediction above, by the time of the rise of the Babylonian Empire two centuries later, the Edomites sinned and became the object of God’s wrath.
The land was lost to the world by the 13th century AD only to be rediscovered centuries later in 1812. Skeptics who believed Edom legendary, were forced to see prophecy fulfilled again.
