More Information
- Updated with predictions from New King James Version translation
- Original KJV version is preserved in the footnotes
- 14 Chapters covering a broad swath of predictions
The accurate forecasting of future events is one of the strongest evidences of the existence of God, and of the authority and integrity of the Word of God. To predict an event centuries before it comes to pass, and then to see a photograph of its fulfillment precisely as foretold, is concrete visible proof of divine power that cannot be controverted.
God Himself uses this testimony to reveal to men the certainty of His power and might. In Isaiah 41, verses 22 to 29, the Lord, speaking through the prophet, cites the prediction of future events as evidence of His supreme power. In irony He calls upon the heathen gods to show forth their power by forecasting the future. The Lord Jesus Christ also used a declaration of future events to confirm the faith of His followers. On the night of His betrayal He said to His disciples: ‘’And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.”
